Sunday's Message

On October 31, 1517 Martin Luther nailed “95 Theses” to the castle church door in Wittenberg, Germany. He hoped that this would serve as an invitation for the Church as a whole to debate what it means to live in true repentance, relying on God’s promise of forgiveness as a free gift rather than something that could be purchased through the sale of indulgences, which was practiced at the time. The Reformers answered this question with the insight that “we are justified [made right with God] by grace, through faith, apart from works of the law.” On Reformation Sunday we will ask “what does this mean for us?”
