During Lent, Christ followers pause for 40 days to reflect on Christ's journey to the cross. It is a time to grow into more fully devoted followers of Christ. We invite you to grow in your faith this Lent through worship services and small group experiences.
Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference? In various times, situations, and styles – we pray! In a recent survey of our congregation we found that 43% of people are praying daily. Still, prayer seems to be one of the most intimidating disciplines of our faith. We’re not sure we’re saying the right words at the right time, and often good intentions to pray end up being a few sentences as we drift off to sleep.
Make a commitment to join us for Wednesday evening Lenten services this year, beginning February 6. Worship begins at 6:30 p.m., but come for a meal in our Fellowship Hall beginning at 5:15 p.m.. During worship we’ll tackle the discipline of Prayer in a new way asking such questions as “Why pray?”, “How do I pray?”, and “Does prayer make any difference?” See our entire schedule of Lenten and Easter services.
Join a small group and spend time with other Christ followers asking these same questions. Take time with your small group to actually practice praying with and for each other. Small Group workbooks can be purchased at Southwood Central for $10. Contact Pastor Sara to learn more about how you can join a small group during Lent.
