We strive to be a connecting body of Christ, creating healthier communities by providing:
Hope for those in need through emergency relief
Healing both physically and spiritually
Education for a hand-up
Empowerment to move out of poverty and become self-reliant
Each of our serving opportunities locally, nationally, and globally connect to one of these four areas.
Serving opportunities are available for individuals, families, friends and Small Groups. Serving together in Christian community is what Southwood is all about. We invite you to connect to one of our meaningful serving opportunities.
God is at work in our community, and Southwood joins in that work by equipping and empowering people to be the Body of Christ in the world by seeking to meet the needs of people in our community.
Washiriki Katika Kristo—Swahili for "Partners in Christ."
At Southwood we believe that relationships are key as we learn to grow in love for our neighbor. When we serve our neighbors in places that are far away from us geographically, we find a closeness to home in our shared hearts for Christ. Through our work with two sister churches, one in LaCeibita, Honduras and one in Uswaa Parish in Northern Tanzania, we pray that we all might grow in our love for God and others.
