What to Expect

When are Sunday services?

Southwood has services at 8:30, 9:45, and 11:00.

How many people attend worship services?

Our average attendance for all three services is around 1,250. Depending on the service time, individual service attendance ranges from 300-500. Our busiest service is the 9:45 service.

What is worship like at Southwood?

Southwood's worship style is an eclectic blend of traditional and contemporary music accompanied by lessons aimed at helping people live out God's purposes in their daily lives. On 1st and 3rd Sundays, we welcome all who are baptized and believe that Christ is present in the sacrament to join us in Holy Communion.

What should I wear?

Wear what you feel is comfortable and appropriate for worship. There's no dress code at Southwood, and Sunday morning attire ranges from jeans and t-shirts to suits and ties. Some prefer to dress up while others prefer to dress down, but we're all here for the same reason -- to focus our hearts and minds on God.

Are there activities for my children?

We offer Sunday school classes at 8:30, 9:45, and 11:00 for children and youth ages 3 years through 8th grade. Our High School Youth meet for Sunday School at 11:00. We also have a nursery available for children age 5 and under during all three Sunday services.

What else is happening on Sunday mornings?

Visit the Cafe before and after services for coffee, tea, donut holes, and a chance to visit in an informal setting. At 8:30 or 9:45, join one of our pastors in the Fellowship Hall for Adult Sunday School.
