Do not neglect your time with God

Do not neglect your time with God

Passage: Matthew 26:36-46

Speaker: Drew Jagadich

Series: Words to Live By

Category: Prayer, Time

Sermon Notes

What do you do with your time?

  • Between all we have going on, God is there.

Jesus prays and asks us to stay awake.

  • Prior to his impending death, Jesus models a life of prayer amidst his anxiety.
  • The ask of his disciples is to care for him as he has cared for them.
  • Our time with God takes form in both our doing and our being.

God is present: from prayer, silence, sleep, care, and everything in between.

  • Even when we fail, miss the mark, or exceed.  Not neglecting your time with God means remembering that God’s presence is always with us.

Letting the nature of God become our own nature.

  • May we continually be shaped into people of God- living out God’s care, justice, and grace to and for all.
