City Impact seeks to minister God's love to Lincoln's urban neighborhoods. They focus on transforming families and neighborhoods from the inside out by equipping people with the good news of God’s love. Volunteer-driven programs involve mentoring relationship with children and youth. Here is how you can become involved:
- Impact Reading Center
Serve weekly (40 minutes during the day or after school/work on the day of your choosing, for a school semester)
This results-based program helps struggling readers build a foundation for future success. Our low-income schools witness many children who are not reading at grade level and studies show this can create problems later on in life. - Impact Leadership Academy
This program for teens focuses on servant leadership development by celebrating and cultivating their God-given talents. Youth are empowered with real-world leadership decision-making to live out their faith and make a positive impact in their community. This is a year round mentoring opportunity on Sunday evenings. - Strengths For Life Mentoring
Serve monthly (flexible—any time, any place)
This exciting new faith-based program matches adults one-on-one with urban youth to help them explore passions and interests, and help them through the process of succeeding in post high school education.
