Southwood has sister churches in La Ceibita, Honduras, and Uswaa Parish in Northern Tanzania. You can get involved in Global Missions at Southwood—even if you never leave home.
Ordinary people are making an extraordinary difference in Honduras, one of the poorest countries in the world.
Southwood works in partnership with Heart to Honduras, a para-church ministry on the ground in Honduras, to serve the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the people of Honduras.
You don't have to speak Spanish to participate ... most of Southwood's team members don't know the language.

Trip participants, traveling as a single adult, must be the age of 19 or older.
Any youth under the age of 19 must be accompanied by a parent or by another adult designated by his/her parents through a Power of Attorney (or other appropriate legal document) as the youth’s legal guardian and/or caregiver. The parents, youth and designated adult are required to meet with the Team Leader to discuss all responsibilities relative to the trip. Each adult may take responsibility for only one minor through a power of attorney.
Parents or guardians of minors traveling with a caregiver designated by power of attorney are urged to have a current passport so that they would be prepared to travel to the mission site to be with their child in the case of an extreme emergency.
We strongly recommend to any adult who is traveling on a mission trip without a member of their family to identify another traveling team member as their personal representative in case of an emergency. This person must have emergency contact information and relevant medical and medication information to make decisions in a medical emergency.
