Guidelines for Global Mission Trips

  • font size decrease font size decrease font size increase font size increase font size
  • E-mail

Trip Team Leaders are responsible for communicating and administering guidelines and documentation for their respective mission trip(s).

Age Guidelines

Trip participants, traveling as a single adult, must be the age of 19 or older.

Any youth under the age of 19 must be accompanied by a parent or by another adult designated by his/her parents through a Power of Attorney (or other appropriate legal document) as the youth’s legal guardian and/or caregiver. The parents, youth and designated adult are required to meet with the Team Leader to discuss all responsibilities relative to the trip. Each adult may take responsibility for only one minor through a power of attorney.

Parents or guardians of minors traveling with a caregiver designated by power of attorney are urged to have a current passport so that they would be prepared to travel to the mission site to be with their child in the case of an extreme emergency.

Recommendations to Adults

We strongly recommend to any adult who is traveling on a mission trip without a member of their family to identify another traveling team member as their personal representative in case of an emergency. This person must have emergency contact information and relevant medical and medication information to make decisions in a medical emergency.
