Changes due to COVID-19:We are making changes to DELVE to allow for smaller class sizes that follow social distancing guidelines. DELVE registration will open up on Saturday, August 8 at 8:00 AM.
6th & 7th Grade In-person DELVE will begin on Sunday, September 13th!
We have been giving careful consideration to what DELVE will look like to keep everyone as safe as possible and wanted to share our plan with you.
To minimize class sizes, students will register (8:30, 9:45, or 11:00) for either an A schedule or a B schedule for the duration of the programming year. What this means is the identical lesson will be taught on both the A and B Sundays.
8th Grade In-person DELVE will begin on Wednesday, September 16th!
Since 8th Grade DELVE meets during the week, smaller groups will be spread throughout the church to follow COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, thus an A/B Schedule is not needed.
Who can ask an existential theological question one minute, and laugh at a ridiculous cat meme the next? Middle schoolers of course! Overwhelming activities, social hierarchy, and never-ending online media can leave middle school youth hungry for something deeply good, something to not only sustain them through the storms of growing up, but also to help them live into the joyful possibility of this time when they develop their identity. Southwood’s ministry with young people grounds them in faith as a key part of their identity. This not only helps them spiritually, but also helps them navigate the social challenges of growing up and finding their place in the world.
Our three-year DELVE (confirmation) program integrates faith mentors and consistent small groups.
To maintain effective class sizes, Southwood has registration the first Saturday in August. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. After open registration, please contact Drew Jagadich who will work with you to ensure your child finds a spot in DELVE.
