Music

The Music Ministry has a new look!

  • We connect with the faithful that have gone before us and that are yet to come by embracing music of the past and the present.
  • We connect with Christians around the world by singing songs that represent both local and global concerns and culture.
  • Using a variety of musical styles (contemporary, traditional, gospel, global, jazz, classical) builds an eclectic repertoire and diverse worship experience.

Community Choir

  • Short-term choir opportunities
  • Gather in the fellowship hall in a circle for song and devotion
  • Emphasis of sharing music in our community at care facilities and with mission partners
  • Bring the ministry of song into worship

Yankee Hill Bell Ministry

photo: Men's Chorus singing in the community

Southwood has begun a bell ministry in partnership with Yankee Hill Village (33rd and Yankee Hill). This ministry will meet on Mondays beginning on September 19 at 9AM and continue through early December.

Volunteers do not need to commit to coming every Monday, but can participate as availability allows. No experience ringing bells is needed. We just want to have fun making music together and build relationships with the residents there.

If you are interested in participating, fill out the form below or contact Denise Makinson, Director of Worship and Music at It would be a great opportunity for kids/grandkids to come with you also!
