Category: All Saints Day, Gratitude

Sermon Notes

Contentment—A state of satisfaction; a state of fulfillment.

What people over 80 said they would do if they could do it over again

  • I would have loved more deeply
  • I would have laughed more often
  • I would have given more generously
  • I would have lived more boldly

Text: Philippians 4:4-9

  1. Don’t worry, instead pray, which is an expression of faith.
  2. Be thankful for what you have—the Attitude of Gratitude
    1. Gratitude begins with our simple acknowledgement that all that we have and all we are come as gifts from God.
    2. Gratitude turns your attention to what you do have instead of what you don’t.
    3. Psychologist, mental health clinicians and researchers all say that gratitude creates more joy in life.  Feeling thankful and expressing that thanks makes you happier.
  3. Keep living a life that honors God.
  4. AND YOU WILL FIND PEACE—Contentment
