Serving together is what Southwood is all about!

We believe God is already at work in our community. This has led Southwood to partner with organizations in the transformational work that is happening all around us. Southwood joins in that work by equipping and empowering our congregation to serve our neighbors in the Lincoln area.

You are invited to join us in serving. There are a variety of opportunities available for individuals, groups and families throughout the year.

How We Serve

Southwood partners with the Food Bank of Lincoln

  • Mobile Food Distributions
    • Innovation Campus every Thursday, 2:00 - 4:00 PM
    • Palmyra High School second Saturday of each month 10:15 AM - 12:00 PM
  • In-School Food Distributions
    • Backpack Program at Saratoga Elementary School
    • Food Markets at Lincoln Northeast High School

Southwood also partners with Tabitha Meals on Wheels to deliver boxes of food monthly.

Southwood Garden

You'll find the garden on the southeast side of the church property.  Each year volunteers help grow produce that is donated to the Food Bank for distribution in the community.

There are opportunities to work in the garden from April to October.  Volunteers are also needed to haul harvested produce to the Food Bank.
